For food service customers, the majority of our products is sold bulk packed fresh or frozen, individually quick frozen or vacuum packaged, which is elaborated on below. For retail customers, our equipment can package meat and seafood product with the following methods:

MAP Packaging

Modified atmosphere packs, or as well like to call it, MAP, is the process of removing all oxygen from the seafood then sealing it around a new gas mixture. In short, it allows fresh product to maintain its’ shape and colour in a sleek tray while also increasing shelf life without using additives.

Vacuum Packaging

Packaging Availability: Meat, Seafood
Available In: All Locations
Vacuum sealing is one of the most efficient and cheapest ways to preserve and protect meat and seafood. Vacuum packing will also contribute to a deeper flavour for meat products and eliminates the need for additives.

Skin Packaging

Packaging Availability: Seafood
Available In: BC
This innovative packaging option creates a premium look by sealing a special film on a ready-made tray and the final product looks like a second skin. The film vacuums the seafood tightly to the tray but without changing its shape and can add 1 - 3 days of shelf life to fresh products.

Intercity Packers maintains a multi-truck fleet to provide fresh and frozen deliveries to our customers. Specialized vehicles are designed to customer requirements ranging from curbside delivery to loading dock formats. All Intercity Packer locations perform regular temperature holding and cleanliness inspections on the fleet.
